Background
Funtasy Production is one of Greater Vancouver's most active corporate event and seminar production companies. Since 2025, they have organized multiple high-profile events across Vancouver — bringing together thousands of professionals, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders for conferences, workshops, and experiential corporate gatherings.
Despite producing consistently high-quality events with attendance regularly surpassing 1,000 guests, Funtasy Production's digital footprint wasn't matching the scale of their in-person impact. Events were selling out — but social media content was underperforming, post-event buzz was minimal, and brand awareness outside of their existing network was limited.
They needed a marketing partner who could translate the energy of their events into compelling digital narratives — and build a scalable system for every future activation.
"In 2025, events that don't live online might as well not exist. We knew our production quality deserved better reach — we just needed the right team to capture and amplify it."
The Challenge
Vancouver's corporate event space is competitive and fast-moving. With dozens of seminars, conferences, and networking events happening every month, cutting through the noise requires more than just posting event photos after the fact. Funtasy Production faced three core challenges:
- Pre-event awareness: Not enough buzz was being generated before events to drive ticket sales and registrations from cold audiences
- Live coverage: Real-time social content during events was inconsistent and reactive rather than strategic
- Post-event amplification: The momentum from successful events wasn't being captured and extended to build long-term brand equity
Industry data supports the urgency: Facebook (86%), Instagram (79%), and LinkedIn (65%) are the primary channels event audiences use to discover and engage with events. And with influencer marketing delivering an average ROI of $5.78 for every $1 spent in 2025, an integrated approach was clearly the missing piece.
Our Approach
Kuipra Communications took over full-service social media and event marketing for Funtasy Production, building a three-phase system designed to maximize impact before, during, and after every event.
Three-Phase Event Marketing Framework
- Phase 1 — Pre-Event: Teaser content, speaker spotlights, countdown campaigns, influencer seeding and early-bird social ads
- Phase 2 — Live Coverage: Real-time Instagram Stories, short-form video Reels, LinkedIn posts, and live audience engagement
- Phase 3 — Post-Event: Highlight reels, attendee testimonials, data-driven recap content, and community building for future events
Influencer Strategy
We identified and partnered with micro-influencers in the Vancouver business and professional development space — creators with between 5,000 and 50,000 followers whose audiences aligned with Funtasy Production's target demographic. Research consistently shows that micro-influencers deliver significantly higher engagement rates than macro-influencers, particularly in local and niche markets.
Each influencer partnership was carefully structured: pre-event promotional posts, live event attendance and coverage, and post-event reflection content — creating an authentic, multi-touchpoint narrative rather than a single sponsored post.
Content Production
Our team handled end-to-end content creation for every event — from copywriting and graphic design to on-site photography direction and video editing. We developed a consistent visual identity for Funtasy Production's social channels that balanced their professional brand with the energy and excitement of live events.
Short-form video (Instagram Reels) became a cornerstone of the strategy. With TikTok and Instagram Reels generating up to 7.5% engagement for accounts under 100K followers, we prioritized 15–30 second snackable video content to maximize organic reach.
OOH & Community Integration
Beyond digital, we advised on out-of-home (OOH) touchpoints to amplify event presence in the Greater Vancouver market — including strategic partnerships with local business communities and cross-promotion with complementary Vancouver brands and organizations.
We also helped Funtasy Production build a retargeting ecosystem: email capture at events, audience segmentation, and warm retargeting campaigns to convert event attendees into repeat ticket buyers and brand advocates.
Results
After six months of full-service partnership throughout 2025, the results across Funtasy Production's 12+ Vancouver events were significant:
- 340% growth in total social media reach across Instagram and LinkedIn
- 8.4% average Instagram engagement rate — more than 7x the platform average of 1.16% in 2025
- 1,200+ targeted reach per event campaign, growing consistently with each activation
- 62% increase in pre-event ticket inquiry volume from social channels versus the period before the partnership
- Influencer campaign ROI of 6.2x, exceeding the industry benchmark of $5.78 per $1 spent
- Post-event Reels consistently outperforming static posts by 3–4x in organic reach
"The numbers tell part of the story — but what really changed was how our brand felt online. Events that used to disappear after the last speaker now live on for weeks."
Key Learnings for Vancouver Event Brands
The Funtasy Production partnership reinforced several principles we now apply to every event marketing mandate in Greater Vancouver:
- The pre-event window is everything. Campaigns that begin 3–4 weeks before an event consistently outperform those starting 1 week before. Vancouver audiences need time to plan, register, and share with their networks.
- Local micro-influencers outperform broad reach. A Vancouver-based business influencer with 8,000 engaged followers delivers more event registrations than a national influencer with 200,000 followers in other provinces.
- Short-form video is non-negotiable for events. Behind-the-scenes, speaker preview clips, and attendee reaction Reels consistently drive the highest engagement and organic discovery.
- Post-event content extends the ROI window by weeks. The 72 hours after an event — if captured correctly — can generate as much awareness as the entire pre-event campaign.
- Community is the long game. Each event should grow the audience for the next one. Retargeting and email capture turn one-time attendees into a loyal following.
